Seriously, just get your torque wrenches at Harbor Freight. They go on sale every few weeks for $12, they test accurately in all the shoot-outs, they are made in Taiwan, and if they ever lose their calibration, HF exchanges them locally. Why pay more for an unknown brand with no lifetime warranty?
Totally agree. I just wish the HF wrenches looked this good!

I hear ya, but any tool with "laser engraved markings" usually becomes unreadable in a short time.

They did make them look handsome though!

I bought the 1/2" a couple days ago on another deal and used it today to torque down the lugs on my car after replacing all of them. It seemed to work great. I previously just "hand" adjusted everything.

5 to 45 ft lbs on the 3/8 inch wrench is pretty bad. Lotta applications need more than 45 ft lbs. And sure you can use the 1/2 wrench; but I definitely prefer my 3/8 to be higher. Most sockets, socket sets are 3/8s. It's a smaller wrench for tighter spaces. 5-45 ft lbs is not great.

Ordered this. I have a couple HF torque wrenches (1/2" and 3/8") and a nice 1/4", but they're in different places in my house (basement where I build bicycles, shed where I work on home projects. This set will go in the garage where I work on cars and motorcycles, and save me a bit of running around the house. Had some other stuff in my Amazon cart, so was looking for a reason to pad the order a bit.

Thanks, OP, not a bad deal (although maybe not as cheap as HF, as mentioned), and they settings look a lot more legible than the stamped, chromed over ones on my HF wrenches.

While I am a huge proponent of HF, I don't think theirs are dual direction.

I was just thinking why I would need to torque when removing a fastener… but then I remembered my lawn mowers blades all have left handed threads. Those are normally guesstimated into proper spec when reinstalling.

I'm not sure if the torque gauges I have go both ways or not? I might buy them a couple drinks and ask as nicely as possible 🙂

I just have been using harbor freight (pittsburg) ones for reparing cars and they have been fine.

I will say their Bauer 3-gallon vacuum sucked! I had it for 2 years and literally used it once or twice just to find it broken recently

LOL Thanks. I saw the name and thought that it might have been Japanese since there are some Japanese characters in the picture. Sometime they wrote in all cap. Didn't check the business name and what not. I was holding off until at least I know for sure. Thanks again.
Google translate detected it's Chinese characters

Pittsburgh brand are the cheap ones and are made in China. The Icons are the good tools and are made in Taiwan, but do not go on sale anywhere near $12.

The Pittsburgh claim to be Taiwan (it says it on the little black pivot), and tests well in all the shootouts.

I used these to replace my timing chain, cat, exhaust manifold, and a few odds and ends. They will rust easily. They won't be readable after a year or so. My arm told me they are "close enough" to accurate but that was right out of the box. I questioned the 1/2" accuracy a few times.. I returned them today. Probably fine for light indoor use but I'm just going to get Harbor Freight ones

Unfortunately, there are a lot of Chinese companies that brand their products with Japanese names and use Japanese characters to piggyback off of the reputation Japan has for quality. This is a Chinese company with a chinese made product. Always check the seller, that's what usually reveals the company origin.
