Reminder that the efficiency-focused 11th generation mobile CPUs have famously little performance difference between the various CPU models. There were even scenarios in which an i5 model could outperform the i7, as documented and explained here:
https://hardwarecanucks.com/noteb...rformance/

Consider your application and buy for that; don't assume the label means much in the way of real-world performance for 11th generation mobile unless you're looking at Precision laptops with the high-power H-series CPUs.

Good luck!
Jon

With Dell Refurbished I've received all three possible scenarios:
  1. A truly burnt out battery needing replacement. Dell Refurbished shipped a replacement battery.
  2. A unit that was at 100% health as if it never left the shelf in the IT warehouse.
  3. A unit at just barely above 80% health (82%) for which Dell Refurbished refused support/credit/exchange.
Good luck!
Jon
This should be fraud and if the government represented the people they would seize Dell property to set an example. Refurbished should mean any consumable parts should be refurbished. So what exactly was refurbished? How is this not just a used laptop? Seizing the corporation, executives assets and making the executives homeless will answer this question. Until we have a government that equally enforces the law, we will have this type of fraud occurring

Check for the refurbed Acer deal on ebay. 15.6 touchscreen, 16gb ram/1tb hd and the battery is a solid 100%, Ryzen 5/Win 11, laptop is almost new and it was $296 incl tax. Had to get a new ac adapter which they refunded me the cost for $15, works perfect tg. Dell is recycled trash with a expensive price tag.

My laptop took a crap yesterday and was looking for a new one. I got a great deal on a MSI one years ago from Walmart. I guess the 7420 they don't sell anymore new on the Dell website. I could not find it. I got one here for $320 tax and shipping. It seemed like a good deal but seeing the comments makes me wonder.

Please don't buy 7420 series, I bought 2 about 4 months back, both had battery and trackpad issues, meaning capacity was way less, I didn't check initially. Now when started having problems, I realised it. Support doesn't help either

Does the Amex offer say Dell.com or Dellrefurbished.com?
offer says dell.com but if you search, many forums will show refurbished counts. this was from my personal experience as well

Just picked one up last week at $400 (32gb model), now with this coupon it is $360. I wonder if they will do price match/refund.

Have purchased many computers from dell refurb over the last 20 or so years. All have been like new.
This latest latitude is A grade but can tell it's been used. (scratches on the lid). Battery is at 65% health. contacted them, they didn't have any replacement batteries so they refunded me $45 to buy a new one off ebay.

The fan had some dust in it, but nothing a little compressed air couldn't resolve.

I reimaged the machine like always, and found it was in MS autopilot and still tied to the organization that owned it. Work around is not to connect to network before fully signing in but then it won't use the windows key in the bios, had to manually a key.

I wouldn't worry about battery, this is the 4th laptop I've purchased from Dell refurb this year. They've sent me replacement battery or refunded credit for a new genuine dell battery off ebay.

The last Precision 5550 I purchased from them, came with a 86wh battery that only had 53 wh capacity left. They sent a replacement 56wh battery and a $50 refund to purchase a new 86wh battery from ebay.

Overall have had very positive experience with Dell refurb and would not hesitate to purchase more from them.

Is the i7 11th gen 3.0, 32GB ram and 256GB HDD the best deal? $283 pre tax
Do you know which model this is, or have a link for it? I don't see it any longer.

I had these with the 11th gen i7 (16GB RAM) for my work laptop.
Wouldn't wish these on anyone. I routinely use multiple monitors with the thunderbolt dock, and for whatever reason the Intel integrated graphics would struggle across multiple monitors when utilizing Youtube high bitrate on one monitor.
Unit also ran hot and had fans constantly on all the time.
FWIW, work upgraded me to the 13th gen i7 model, and that one is worlds better.

thats an early gen 1 usbc issue with lat and thinkpad. they trying run everything in 1 port without the additional circuit safeguards to cut cost. so you get overheating and fry port. and revision after millions of cooperate tix complaints .

Intel gen 11 run ice cold on HDMI without issue or lag, barely 1 drop frame

Dell has the Outlet for New Refurb- its 20-30% off. The gold standard for 1-2 yr

Dell DFS is bronze standard contracted to fedex airport. its 50%-75% off for cert used & new like 90 day warranty, Dell genuine parts support is mixed like flying Spirit ultra low cost airlines

Depends on what support/warranty those other sellers are offering. I have 2 of these through Dell Refurb from previous Slickdeal posts. In one of the laptops the battery wouldn't hold a full charge - I emailed Dell Refurb and there was a brand new battery on my porch a week later (no questions asked.)
So, if that type of support is important to you - that's my experience with Dell Refurb.
