I got one about a week ago from Walmart as a Wi-Fi only phone. It's Wi-Fi 5 and 4G only. You have to update it to Android 14 which is the last version update it'll get. It uses 2gb of Ram Boost by default. I just left that setting as is. The only apps you really have to keep are Moto and Device Pulse. All the other bloatware can be disabled or uninstalled. The phone is fast and the battery lasts a long time. I don't turn it off. I wouldn't use it as a main phone but as a backup for Wi-Fi only and other tasks, it's good and fast.
If you have a phone farm for various DePin projects or whatever else, this phone is suitable. My only complaint is the fingerprint sensor is located too high up. Other than that, the sensor is fast. The speaker is loud. The phone doesn't freeze up or close apps when confronted with too many apps being open or when playing music. But don't push it, obviously.

You are talking about two different things. You can no longer do a COMBINE when you have two active lines and need customer service to combine them to one line. You can still do a HARVEST when there is only ever one active line. You activate the new device with a transfer of service clicking on "keep my number" and everything moves from you current line with the year of service/minutes/texts/data added on. Then, you can repeat the process moving back to the original device (either immediately or after 60 days if you want to ensure the unlock). A harvest can be done entirely online without involving customer service.

I can't believe you can buy a brand new decent smartphone for $25. Whatta time to be alive. Too bad I can't think of a reason to get this.

Has anyone ever hit a wall with constantly combining time from these deals to their main line? I think I have like 6 years of airtime but this is tempting to add another two years

Can someone confirm, I recall buying a tracfone a good while back, the incoming calls came off your allowed minutes also. Is this still the case?

If anything a few decent burners for selling on Facebook/offerup and such for when you don't want to deal with the crazies requesting stupid returns or dumb questions…
Wonder if these qualify for porting to get the subsidized handset deals??

Excellent price as if it they are Wi-Fi only devices. Can be used as digital clock & weather display.

Tempted to buy them to play emulators on them. Probably can play up to some PSP games, which is amazing for $25 a piece. Also works as GPS if you download the maps, MP3 player, and much more.

the wall you will hit is they will zero out your balance. 6 yrs is already way too long to risk it further.

This is very tempting to get as a device to use strictly for podcasts, which is what I use a very old phone for right now. I would need to find a use for the second phone though. I don't care about it not having 5G since I would just use it as a wifi device.

Can I use it only for accessing public wifi without having to pay to unlock it?

Good to get to harvest the 1 year plans to add to your existing primary TF plan. The data is enough for those who are usually on wifi at home & work, so only need a little bit when out of wifi coverage, and don't watch videos. The phones are good for home wifi podcast/handheld/mini tablet use.
