I got one about a week ago from Walmart as a Wi-Fi only phone. It's Wi-Fi 5 and 4G only. You have to update it to Android 14 which is the last version update it'll get. It uses 2gb of Ram Boost by default. I just left that setting as is. The only apps you really have to keep are Moto and Device Pulse. All the other bloatware can be disabled or uninstalled. The phone is fast and the battery lasts a long time. I don't turn it off. I wouldn't use it as a main phone but as a backup for Wi-Fi only and other tasks, it's good and fast.
If you have a phone farm for various DePin projects or whatever else, this phone is suitable. My only complaint is the fingerprint sensor is located too high up. Other than that, the sensor is fast. The speaker is loud. The phone doesn't freeze up or close apps when confronted with too many apps being open or when playing music. But don't push it, obviously.

You are talking about two different things. You can no longer do a COMBINE when you have two active lines and need customer service to combine them to one line. You can still do a HARVEST when there is only ever one active line. You activate the new device with a transfer of service clicking on "keep my number" and everything moves from you current line with the year of service/minutes/texts/data added on. Then, you can repeat the process moving back to the original device (either immediately or after 60 days if you want to ensure the unlock). A harvest can be done entirely online without involving customer service.

I can't believe you can buy a brand new decent smartphone for $25. Whatta time to be alive. Too bad I can't think of a reason to get this.

Just as a friendly reminder -- the 1500-plan is total for the year, not per month. That works out to just around 4 minutes of calling per day.

(in before everyone tries to justify this with "but I only use a phone for THIS or THAT for SO LITTLE". Cool story brah, thanks for sharing. It's like saying you "bought a car that has three out of four wheels, you never drive it anywhere since you have a free metro pass, but it's a great vehicle!" Using it exclusively on Wifi defeats the purpose of a cellular device.)

Also, this device is a bit lacking since it doesn't have 5G -- in some areas, that'll hurt your connectivity coverage. And having merely 64gb of storage is a headache, though you can supplement your own microSD card at least in this model. It has only 4gb of ram, but that's typical of budget phones -- you simply can do only one thing at at time. It's perfectly adequate for low-usage, low-expectation scenarios.

The worst part is that it's loaded to the gills with bloatware and spyware. Some stuff you can't clean out either, at most you might be able to disable the software from running. And the carrier can "push" new applications to your device -- so even after you de-junk-ify it, you'll find more bloatware like casino games, birds in need of therapy, and anti-social networks from time to time. It's obnoxious.
Worse analogy in the history of Slickdeals. You might want to break out of that bubble you are crammed in.

They use payment method, address, names, and email addresses to verify if you are a new customer, they are one of the strictest I've ever seen and will cancel orders if you try to make a new account
My 5 QVC accounts disagree. I just made a new one the other day with the 30 off 60 coupon.

What's the trick to placing an order. Use a new email. What about the shipping address or credit card.

I had a terrible experience with them for these phone deals as a new user earlier this year during the Spectrum S25 trade in. If they don't auto cancel your order then you are probably fine but when they auto cancelled mine the following day, they just roped me around for about a month before telling me to kick rocks and remake an account. I would wish that on no one to deal with incompetent or just completely terrible customer support. If you ever have to communicate with their "financial department", there is no direct way, customer support will tell you they will leave them a ticket to contact you and then proceed to not contact you. It just ends up with customer support representative unable to fully tell you what's wrong and just making vague reasons as to why your account got flagged but not tell you anything concrete. I called 8 different times because they rope you along telling you things take a certain amount of business days and each customer support representative had a different reason why my account got flagged. I can't help it at this point but QVC permanently tilted me.

how is this not helpful.... bots are crazy
Nah, it's not bots. People hate to be reminded of the fact that a "deal" isn't quite such a deal. And no one enjoys that proverbial slap in the face.

So the first they do is justify it...reason it....rationalize it. "It's PERFECT for me, since i don't use it all that much! I use wifi! (aka someone else's network). Blah blah blah." And that's where my car analogy comes in. Just because you don't USE it doesn't mean it's suddenly a good deal.

But nah, the downvote brigade comes in to let me know, the truth isn't welcome here. We live in a fantasy land of rainbows and unicorns. Praise be to the commercial gods. All they do is good and right. Burn the naysaying heretics.

I'm open to suggestions for a cheap, WiFi-only Android device. It doesn't have to be a phone.
Why are you asking me? I don't work for Android.

I am up to 2535 days left. That's 6.9 years. I also have a shoebox full of completely functional phones that the service has been scraped from.

These 2 for $cheap deals just keep coming. I almost want to keep buying just because they are so cheap.
Give them to charity and take a tax deduction??

This is absolutely true, just realize it might take a dozen hours of customer service engagement to get the phones functional, or unlocked. I jumped on a previous deal like this and regretted the time sink it became. A risk with any carrier, but Tracfone was particularly challenging.

Why should any CS time be required?

I bought these for $60 several months ago as backups for my elderly father who constantly breaks and loses his phones. That's a reason if you have that aggravation in your life.
My father was having similar issues. He was taking an OTC med. for sleep. Took him to a good internists. He was having trouble sleeping because of sleep apnea. Was given a CPAP machine and NO sleep meds. Some other stuff he was taking was stopped, too. He's now a new man...his old self...sharp, funny, etc. NEVER attribute changes in elderly people to "old age" without PROOF. Glad I didn't. So is he.

To be clear: My understanding is you can no longer activate the new phone with your existing phone number (which typically then combines your current tally of txt/min/data with what is bundled with the new phone), wait a few hours, then transfer everything back to your other (and probably better quality) phone and expect an accumulation of txt/min/data. I don't know exactly what may be lost in the process (like maybe EVERYTHING), but that HSN product page clearly stated the service that comes with the new phone STAYS on the new phone.

I just did it for 2 phones about 10 days ago. Harvested both phones of the 2 phone deal and combined the new total min/txt/data/service with my old phone's . No problems. I anticipate that at least 1 of the new phones will unlock in 60 days or so (about 50 actually).

I did it about 10 days ago with each of the new phones from this deal. No problems at all.
Worked just as it always has.

Absolutely not! No issues at all Unlocking with Tracfone..No fuss like other carriers who want an arm and a leg to unlock and that too only if you have been with them for 100 years!!!

Have unlocked more than 10 tracfones so far

I use a new email address, same billing/shipping address, different credit card (use a virtual card).
