That ~20 dollar deal a few days ago has set my price threshold for this. The kits all seem the same - pair of batteries, extra chain or two, and a wildly bad idea. Looks like hilarious fun. If I'm going to risk my wrists or eyes I want to do with the lowest bidder.Edit: they even have the Chinese specs race bs going. Their competitors with the visibly identical product are claiming 18v or 20v. This one says 21v on the batteries. And in the description it claims 26v. Pictures also appear to have an automatic oiler in the inset but none actually exist on the tool itself. I'm holding out for a fictional 30v and dual oil sprayers, while we're just making stuff up.

I think that one was priced right. It's a useful tool, reviews are generally positive and center around cutting small branches and saplings. No one is pretending it's powerful or durable.

I was just a few minutes too late to buy two, one for each hand.

I have a similar unit (also 21V fwiw). 6 inch is a stretch but still doable. Might take two passes to do. 4 inches and under this thing cuts the through like butter. We get 1-2 windstorms every winter that knocks some large branches off the tree. This makes it much easier to break things down for the yard waste bin.

I have the seesii brand (i mean, it looks identical to this but different color) and I've used it to cut through 4-5 inch branches. Takes a few seconds and you gotta be careful because the torque makes it a little difficult to control at times, but its manageable.

So this is just Chinese garbage. Will it work? Yes. Will it work good? Not really. Better be extra extra careful when using. Also has Btier batteries that will not last long. If you do not care about your safety and just using for few small jobs then sure go for it.

These saws actually fill a niche. I have owned a Chinesium version that my sister bought for me as a gag gift (at the time) for about four years. It came with only one battery that will now only last about one branch before it dies. However, I must say that I really enjoyed using it for small pruning projects and it became my go-to as a result. Ultimately, I waited for the 6" Ryobi version to go on sale (~$69) and bought that one because I have plenty of batteries. It is a bit heavier, but I absolutely love it and would recommend:

Ryobia, Kobalt, Greenworks all solid and usually have decent sales come up.
