I mean, it would help if that stone you speak of was actually available for sale.

Sold out faster than your deal. And there's more options for 8.99. Neiko isn't a top quality brand. Just a copy of other cheap tools. Which have their place. I have some of their impact sockets with no issues.

If you do want to get into sharpening with a stone, the Shapton Koromaku series is one of the least expensive, high-quality stones you can buy. The 1000 grit should be sufficient to take any dull, but not damaged, knife to good working sharpness:
https://www.amazon.com/Kuromaku-C...B001TPFT0G

You'll also need a flattening stone - as you use these stones they wear unevenly and need to be flattened. Most people recommend a diamond sharpening plate such as the Atoma 400 or 140 grit:
https://www.amazon.com/Atoma-Diam...B0031KNR2O

I had to take a class to learn how to do it - you can learn by watching youtube videos, but having an in-person instructor was worth the cost of the class to me. Check local knife sharpening places to see if they offer classes. If you're in Austin, TX I'm happy to pass on contact info. for the place I went to.
One important lesson that is hard for most people to learn, myself included: when you're learning don't be afraid of damaging your knife. It's VERY difficult to do anything on a stone you can't fix with that same stone and a bit more experience. So, don't stress, be willing to keep at it until you get the feel for the angle and motion that will get your blade sharp.

Well if it's available, then post it, damn it! Yes, $7.09 is a great price - but every time I've looked it's been OOS. Sometimes what happens on Amazon is something is out of stock for a long time and they keep the old price, so it looks like a great deal and then when it's actually back in stock, the price jumps. I doubt when that stone is in stock, it's going to be selling for $7.09... but if it is, post it. You can't buy much for $7 (esp shipped) nowadays.
