I'm sure he means you can buy multiple 100ah LiFEPO4 batteries and connect them to the Max's two solar ports instead. I bought a 52v 30ah (1560wh) one for $330 and with both ports will put about 800watts into the max.

Bad price even on a $/Wh metric ($0.371/Wh) alone. Factor into the proprietary lock-in (EF has even moved to prevent this from being used with other power stations like the Delta Pro) and the older design, it is definitely not worth it. Plus the head unit (Delta 2 Max) has horrendous self-consumption and poor AC efficiency.

At $500, maybe worth buying.

It's compatible with the delta 3 plus as well. You're paying for convenience. It's like a crappy iphone. Pay more, get less, but it works even if you don't know what you're doing. And it looks fancy (for being just a really big car battery)

Do you have a link regarding the setup you're referring to?

My setup?

No not really but you can Google the idea. The solar inputs are just DC inputs. So you can connect cheap LiFEPO4 batteries to them to give you more run time instead of solar panels. You can buy the right three pin xt60i connectors off Amazon that tell the ecoflow to pull max current (so it thinks it's solar not a cars 12v cigarette socket). 12v batteries will limit you a bit. Better to get the 24v/36v or 48v version like I didnfor max power transfer.

lol it's only for young people.
I only buy these power stations for the elders, like my mom
I'm sure that I can build a system myself, just like I can build a PC with parts
However, do remember that not everyone can do the same or possess the same knowledge.
What we call "normal" is kind of a "skill" for someone else.
