I bought this soundbar last time it came up, and we've been super happy with it in our decent sized bedroom. Bass on it's own is ok for a small room, but the ability to add any wired subwoofer is a great feature. Ended up pairing it with the wireless surrounds for the final touch.

Got this on thr last $299 adorama deal, legitimately don't need a sub with this bar unless you're truly wanting some deep bass. It can get down there though for a bar of this size.

Has anyone compared this directly to the Yamaha yas-109? Similarly sized soundbar with similar msrp both with subwoofer out but the difference is the Yamaha is anywhere from $50 to $200 depending on the day of the week. I paid $60 for mine. Would the difference in sound quality be worth $240?

They make these way too long. Maybe it's the atmos features. As I wall mount the tvs, my cabinets/gear are small; no need to be big, usually wall mounting them as well. I love my kanto syd (discontinued sadly). Can't find anything comparable.

I paid about $349 + tax for this unit from Adorama in the January of 2025. It's great sounding and clear. It has difficulty with getting clear dialogue due to having no center channel to adjust setting. In normally will bump up the MIDS setting and play around with the dialogue mode (mid or high).I have a wired subwoofer connected and it definitely sounds great. The internal subs are better than other sound bars for the price. You can add surrounds for a little cost as well.I think this bar is a good deal at this price. The only drawback is it's heavy and long. And again, the clarity of dialogue from movies could use a bit more refinement. Also, a plus, it doesn't have all those extra features that other bars have (no google cast and no WiFi).

What did you use for surround?

I have this as well with the Klipsch powered wireless sub. And it has that movie theater sound but the center channel mid range vocals are not great. Even with the dialogue enhance feature. Hopefully hey fix this in the next iteration. Have it to my son.

putting speakers close to one another gives you no spacial effect. soundbar speakers are very tiny as it is.

Makes sense, I guess if one really wants atmos this makes a lot of sense. I'm still more about just going with the biggest speakers that you're comfortable with. Not to say all I have is huge speakers, in a small bedroom, all I want is the clarity of a good stereo set. You can fit 4" drivers and a compact box, and just have the option for a sub for bass heads :-P
