I have this can opener and used it daily since last year for cat food. It's pretty good for the price.

Yeap. I have this as well and it's terrible. Soon after a couple of uses, the can opener stops biting into the can on first try. I have to fiddle with it a bunch before I can get it going. It also has a weird problem of shredding a bit of the can label as it goes so you'll sometimes get bits of paper into the can. Really annoying.

Plus, where the handle meets the metal of the gears is just plastic. That piece breaks after about a year.

My wife likes the look of this one for some reason, so we just wind up spending $9 a year on replacements.
