There was a recent hackernews post about how the TorBrowser ironically makes you easier to fingerprint, as opposed to using "normie" apps like a normal person that helps you blend in with the Windows Copilot and Apple Silicon crowds better. I do trust OpenAI/MS too much with personal stuff. I stopped caring about the data omniscience and started appreciating the positive benefits of algorithms that truly know what would interest me. Of course you still have to be critical enough to realize where they are subtly trying to herd you. Tons of pipelines towards self-/destructive ideologies.

How does the battery do under load? Haven't seen much about that.

Picked this up, seems like great bang for the buck

I've got one, came from an older IdeaPad pro 5. hate that these don't have built in SD reader and the power button on the right sucks since it's so easy to hit.other than that it's a solid laptop.

honest question - should one care about getting a machine with copilot+ capability?
I don't think it's important. Microsoft's Copilot isn't really that impressive just yet, so far from a necessity.

I don't ever do power intensive activities on battery so I can't give a good answer. However when I do have it on battery it's actually not great but not terrible either. About what you'd expect

Now that I have the unit and have messed with it a bit I can comment that I misinterpreted what these long battery times meant.
They've managed to extend battery life by allowing machines to operate using ultra-low power consumption cores but for any intensive opportunities while this will do better than a machine with a dedicated video card its looking like you can easily burn the batter in an hour - hour and a half.
Mine looked like a return and visually was brand new looking. I'm guessing it was used for a couple of months maybe as it had ~400 hours of total runtime on the SSD, that or they replaced the SSD with one that had some use. The power adapter looked like someone had used it but still had the paper wrapping. The battery is somehow at 7-8% above the stated capacity per the power report.
My only two complaints: the backlight is visible from an angle on the keyboard though a minor complaint. The touchpad click is a fair bit louder than I'd prefer. The screen on this is incredible at this price point. The build, lightness, and battery life not under load are all legit.

Perfect for anyone weary of windows recall and AI. There is no npu. You should be safe. Excellent specs all around.
Wow, the ignorance is strong here. There is an NPU, it's just not strong enough for copilot. You must just blurt anything out without thought or reason.
