Given the fact the Samsung is a year old, shouldn't sway your decision. I think the better set would be the Samsung over the Insignia.

True just never had experience with insignia TVs, luckily I can fit a 75" on my tv stand.

Difference between the 6900 and 6950? Same price.
I see the 6900 is edge lit and the 6950 is direct lit. Which one is generally better?

I'm surprised that they're still manufacturing edge-lit TV.
*Nowadays the direct-lit is actually FALD lighting that had been disabled to function as direct-lit.
