Newegg usually has sales like this to get ahead of other retailers. Last one I remember was Split Fiction.

Prices will go lower eventually and we don't know what bugs there will be or if they'll be patched

There's no reason other than FOMO to buy games single player games at full price. Games now are expensive and always broken.

Exactly. After Mafia 3 I'm not touching one of their games after at least two years of patches.

To be fair, the Mafia 1 remake went a lot smoother. And Old Country will be a very linear, like the remake. So hopefully it'll go as smoothly.

But you're absolutely right about Mafia 3. I platted the entire series a few years ago and I had to rollback the firmware. Cause the last update they ever did for it was really bad

Right, in 2025 no game is worth preordering seeing how poorly launches tend to go.

not enough open world, just forces you to play through it and then nothing to do after, ive played all three, the 3rd had some but not enough, just my cheap two cents

I actually preferred the linear approach the first two took. The stories felt cohesive and purposeful. I got bored on the 3rd and abandoned as it was a crappy GTA wannabe.
That said, I'm with the majority and will be waiting for it to be 1/4 price by BF.

Games aren't expensive at all. Games have been the same price for the last 30 years. They've been between $40-$100 for literally 30 years. Sega Genesis games were regularly $40-$50, and some SNES games were $100. N64 games were often $70. $70 back then was way more than it is now. PS1 games were $50-$60. PS2 games were $50+. Games are one of the only things that have not gone up, whatsoever, with inflation. People seriously need to quit complaining about game prices. If game prices followed inflation, we'd be paying $120+ per game. Stop regurgitating what you've heard, and start actually thinking about what you're saying.

Open world is plague. Open world leads to a disjointed story, and a ton of filler. Thank God this isn't a big open world.

Games were usually finished at release though and didn't have tons of DLC and microtransactions which add to the price.

Damn, I wish I had seen this sooner. After watching a few videos on the game and having played all the other ones in the franchise I was hoping to pick this one up for around $40. I'll just wait until the next sale now. I too am looking forward to the linear story line but it sounds like the ending was rushed to make the release date.
