Typing from a M4 1TB 16GB, bought directly from Apple with Student/Vet discount a few months back.
I freekin love this laptop! So glad I held out.
(I've had so many others way back...Lenovo, Sony Viao, 2013 MBP, and still run a desktop bound 2023/4 M2 Apple refurb MBP)
Need HDMI port? Inexpensive Monoprice USB3 to HDMI adapters work very well.
.
hth someone
how about usb A and micro sd port

If you don't need dual monitors, the M2 and M3 deals are pretty good now. I love my M4 Air though. I can finally just plug in and have my dual monitors at my desk, exactly like when I plug in the MacBook Pro I use to work.
what resolution are the monitors? can i run a QHD monitor off a macbook air m4 (16gb and 512gb SSD)?

Two external displays

Two displays up to a native resolution of 6K (6144 x 3456) at 60Hz or 4K (3840 x 2160) at 144Hz

what is liquid retina, good or not good?

Its good. Go into any Best Buy or Apple store and see. Its a nice screen. Not as Nice as Macbook pro. When OLED came out I thought they were going to be a great thing. Same with only 4K options. No on OLED. Kills the battery fast and they usuallly run hot. Its great for watching video however. 4K it all depens on the font scaling. Overall also not needed. Macbook air is meant as a pretty light machine with great battery life. You can travel with it. 13 is a smaller footprint and the price is slightly less.

Ohio's Tax Free Weekend is the beginning of August and I was going to wait until then to purchase. I checked the details and it's only offered on items $500 or less. Will it go any lower?

Meh, 15" M3 Air 24gb/512gb was $999 at Costco recently, bought one myself, I know we don't have time machines but this seems too high unless you need a 15" M4 right now.

USB-A adapter = $5.99 and SD card reader = $9.99 or so.
