I'm guessing these don't have dram and their controllers are nothing special. I miss the old soldigm deals we used to get

dram cache actually slows things down on such 4x4 5000-8000 speed m.2's so you should stop asking about it. the latest 5x4 >12000 speeds no longer bother with dram cache either. it has nothing to do with the controller, it's just not beneficial anymore.

the controller + dram or not are a package to get to a specific goal. every single nvme posted there will be someone posting it does or doesn't have dram and that is useless you look at the performance curve. as others have mentioned the lastest 5th gen don't have it because it slows down things. maybe they catch up.later who knows. with hmb has minimized the need you need to take a look at what the package does versus what you want it to do. While it may not provide enough practical benefit for most drives to include it these days, there's no situation in which DRAM will slow things down compared to HMB.

Still waaay overpriced. Back in 2023 1TB drives went as low as $26 for these no name shit chinese brands.

Still handy for power loss situations. DRAM based drives can flush the data in the event of a power failure. In general, I think they're less prone to data corruption for random crashes and power loss events.
