How do you define those 2 categories?
Politically incorrect would be something incredibly rude, like saying our nation's problems are caused by a certain minority group.
Politically inconvenient facts would be finding out that the best way to solve our nation's woes runs against my political party's stated goals or platform.

It was less the socialist policies than the rise of authoritatian populism. Tell the people what they want to hear while consolidating power in the central government. Attack dissent in all levels of government and civil society. Launch unilateral economic policies opposed by all major economists. Isolate the nation on the global stage. Control trade and micro-manage free enterprise. That sort of thing.
Sounds familiar 😭

If it's too inconvenient, you can always call it rude.

Tell me the time period of when Venezuela was prosperous, & when Venezuela was a struggling nation. Ever since the 1990s the US empire has been supporting destabilizing regime changes in Venezuela, & applying sanctions on Venezuela.

Doesn't matter what type of government someone has. What difference does that make when central banks and their cronies rule as unelected officials around the world. You heard the term, follow the money? If you follow the money it leads to one place.
Both matters: government & central bank. America's central bank is the Federal Reserve, which is neither federal nor a reserve. The Federal Reserve or the Fed is a private bank with monopoly control over the USA's monetary system, which is the reserve currency of the world. In 1913, Congress gave this power to the Fed. Ever since then, the Fed has been promoting more cronyism and nepotism, inflating or devaluing the US dollar, etc. The Fed refuses to be audited by a 3rd party organization that represents the general public.

A certain group of money-sniffing people have excess control over the Fed. The US Constitution's free speech should empower us to freely talk about them, but both the Democrat Party & GOP have insisted that talking about them is "hate speech." However, they are allowed to criticize us, mock us, charge debt and usury upon us, demote us, cancel culture us, etc.

America's economy should customize solutions for different social groups, instead of being misled by bankers, businessmen, & lawyers. I think the more accomplished scientists, engineers, & soldiers deserve more say in America's leadership for both the government & banks.

Quote from WB_K :
The way the world operates is on ignorance and double ignorance. Or not knowing and thinking we know when we do not. The answer is not by focusing outwardly on the problems but inwardly, as in for each of us to see our strength from within. And stop pinning the judgment on others except in using that judgment to reflect ourselves, make internal change, behave in ways that can inspire others to do the same. Reality is, for the West, we live very outwardly based on what we think about others and by giving objects intrinsic value. We must first treat everything without value, and give value to only positive human tendencies (in plain, simple terms how to be good, not twist the definition). For non-west world, they are not different. Same problem. They just aren't well positioned in the materialism. A world based on "outwardness" will always have "time out" to think it over. One where "inwardness" is the guiding principle is the better way to go and for each individual to reassess themselves, even if you believe your opinion to be about others it's more about you and your reaction to an action that was at some point you. It might change your thoughts if you understand that whatever you do onto others, you will reverse roles with the other in another contextual form. If your ability to see it is sharp enough, you break that cycle by reception to that, in other words fine-tune one's awareness. Remove the ignorance.
You provided half the solution. Both inward & outward solutions are necessary for our civilization to continually advance so that customized solutions are created for different social groups.

Some parts of the USA are great, but other parts are mediocre to lousy. The same could be said about any nation. For overall measurements, the USA is one of the better nations, but not the best of the best. The best of the best is relative to each person's preference. Some could definitely argue that Iceland or Hungary is better than the USA. Some could definitely prove that Russia or China is better than the USA. Etc.

As someone who came from a previous communist country, Poland, I'm going to say the socialist/communist policies had plenty to do with it. In conjunction with the authoritarian rulers that socialist/communist policies always bring since that the only way those policies can be enforced.
