The Hisense is a budget TV, it doesn't compare well to the mid range TCL QM7K

That's a wrong Rtings comparison. The Hisense in that comparison is the 2024 QD7N (QLED, Direct-Lit, No Local Dimming). The Hisense in this thread is the 2025 QD7QF (QLED, Mini-LED, Local Dimming). Rtings has not reviewed the QD7QF yet.
