Hmmm, could be a tough sell for some. One can get a 13" m4 air with 32gb of ram + 1tb ssd from the edu store for $1659. Unless you really need that extra 4gb of ram or the extended performance of a pro (with air cooling) the edu pricing seems pretty attractive.

I think it's not just about the memory and cpu. Pro has better 120hz display, sound, hdmi port, etc.

the m3 pro pulls ahead in gpu tests..it has more ports and an xdr display.
1659$ for that m4 air config sounds overpriced..it should be around 1400$

I get daily e-mails from Slickdeals but none of them mentioned this deal two weeks ago when it came out. 😖 Sold out in Tustin, CA by now, natch ...

Just picked this m3 pro up from Flushing Queens. I think this is a great deal, what do you all think? Worth it to get M3 pro or should I have upgraded to a M4 pro?

Thanks to the OP for posting.
Is this a much better value than the $1250 M4 deal? I know that they are very different machines with different specs, but which value is better?

You're comparing an M3 with 36 GB to an M4 or 16 GB. I would take the M3 36 GB any day.
