Large battery capacity 15000mAh (3.2V/48Wh) charge your phone up to 3 times, making it perfect for extended use on the go. Rated capacity 8000mAh (5V/3A). (When the voltage changes from 3.2V to 5V, the battery capacity loss is 20%)
This conversion is also true of lithium ion at 3.7v. All power banks that run on lithium ion advertise their capacity at 3.7v.
That's because most people don't understand mah ratings. They see a mah number on their power meter and it doesn't match what is listed on the battery device they are testing and they claim fraud. For capacity of a battery you need to know both MAH and VOLTAGE.
The power bank probably is as they cliam a 15000 mah battery.

I like it. Would pick one up if I didn't already have an old model like this with microUSB which still works. Hate microusb, but I'll wait until it dies or until it gets lost.
Ok stupid question. My travel charger is alot smaller why would someone buy something like this. I mean it's bulky for travel and a plug in charger is more efficient smaller as well.

This logic extends to literally any powerbank. Why buy a powerbank if your phone charger is smaller?

doesn't look like it would really be 15k. one review states only getting 8k mAh. I am guessing the numbers are all inflated. otherwise looks good.

One thing is that it uses LiFePO4 batteries. Less energy dense than regular lithium ion, but also a lot safer (less risk of fire etc) and can be cycled thousands of times. Basically you could fully cycle this every day for 8 years and the batteries should still hold 80%+ capacity to when they were new. Where lithium ion batteries could be wiped out in a year doing that.
Obviously doesn't mean the rest of the electronics would last that long, but the battery could if treated decently.

they are the first company that makes USB power banks that has that distinction, so it's very nice to see

It's for when you're traveling and know you won't have a wall outlet to charge your phone. This one also has 22.5W PD (power delivery) which means you can also charge a modern USB C laptop with it. Though if you're using your laptop while charging it with this, the battery might still drain, albeit a bit slower, since laptops can use more power under heavy load than what this can charge it with. If you have a macbook air or something super low power, this will probably be fine though.
ex: I don't use my battery bank unless I'm flying somewhere and don't want to deal with finding a seat that's also next to an outlet. With a battery bank, you can just plop down wherever you want and still charge your phone.

In case someone here is visiting China, start from 06/28/2025, power banks not CCC certified are not allowed to be carried on a domestic flight in China. Seems like this one doesn't have CCC (according to Amazon product video showing on -29s), but it has FCC and CE, should be good enough otherwise.
