I got the newest one (AW3425DW) for $680. I wouldn't consider this a slick deal

ditto. i got the newer one. if you buy from dell direct you also get 3 yr burn in warranty i think on the new one

Rtings gave that a pretty meh review, according to them the older version is better than the new one.

The rtings review for the new monitor is not yet out, shows as still in their review lab. Maybe thinking of the AW3425DWM review? That's a non-oled.
