Don't buy the thermometer pool float through the govee site thinking you can use the govee water leak sensor hub(a different product you may already have today). I did this and of course, the water leak hub doesn't talk to this device. You must buy the combo.

So that I don't have to do this. So that I can check in two seconds using my phone while sitting on the couch.

But why are you constantly checking your pool temp?

I know it's warm in the summer. I don't need to know if it's 83 or 85 degrees.

Got this (2 pack) a year ago for $36,so this is a good price. Now I am curious where I plugged in the hub!
just turn off each breaker one by one until you lose the connection (half joking, but it would work)

I found it. It was on a power strip under my nightstand. Lol. Forgot all about that thing.

I am wondering why is there a need to know pool temperature at multiple times per day? I just go to the pool, stick kitchen thermometer and I am done. Never understood the need for these.
I use a solar radiant pool heating system that increases the temperature 20 degrees over ambient so it's useful to know how it's behaving so I can keep the temperature perfect without taking a manual reading several times a day. Some folks are light years ahead of you and want these metrics. Not every deal is for every person's situation.

What solar heating system do you use?

Several uses in the summer and winter. In the summer hot months of July - August my pool in Houston can go from 86 degrees early morning to 96 degrees during the day. I can block the sun with sun shades over some of the pool. I can also run a dual spray fountain cooler effect as well. Using both can reduce the temperature to 82 degrees to 88 degrees. I can automate the fountain with my pump so can adjust temp on the fly. During the winter, I have a heat pump to heat the pool and a solar cover. Having this thermometer is fantastic to track how effective each method is, so you can adjust how long you need to use each device. Do you really need to put the shade up or the solar cover on. Is the pool really ready to jump in. Sure you can walk over to a thermometer but this allows you to track your data real time per hour, per day, weekly, monthly.

I also have Govee thermometers that I put in my fridge and freezers. I have 3 fridges with freezers and 1 freezer. Yep 4 total. 7 thermometers. They track temperatures. One of my fridges, the most expensive, was horrible at keeping proper temps. It would range from 30 degrees to 50 degrees which is too hot and caused food to spoil. So it's now in the garage and I only put water in the fridge part because it fluctuated too much. I would have never known if I didn't have thermometers. They all have alarms too, so I get alerts if the temps go up to whatever I set. I got an alert on my phone when the freezer temp went up because one of the kids had something blocking the door. That would have cost me more than the total of these thermometers in spoiled food. Govee makes great products. I have water sensors too. TP-Link Tapo cameras and Govee are huge in my house.
