I think you had bigger issues looming prior to using these cleaners. I've used these for years without issues on multiple vehicles, including Lucas.

Techron contains Polyether Amine (PEA) as an additive which is supposed to be the best chemical to dissolve carbon deposits. I'm in. Thanks for posting.

This treatment has the same additives as the gas you put in your car. Don't waste your money.
Reminder: Cheap and brand name gas all come from the same refinery. The trucks go to a final step where the brands add the secret sauce to the fuel.

Buy this and add it to cheap gas.

just go with how many gallons can it be mixed in for that many oz. then do the math.

people always use it wrong. thinking the more concentration, the better. they even went with 1 full bottle mixed with their empty gas tank thinking its better with the higher concentration mix. thats not how it works. these got to be mixed with gas at the right designed formula to come up with a perfect mix, then run that mixture through the engine, the longer (amount) of the mixture, the better work it can do.

btw, that big bottle are you looking at? as long as its cheaper by the gallons it can "clean up to", i would go with it. just do an estimate at how much left in your gas tank, then do the math.

AFAIK you don't get these additives unless you buy premium.

Are you suggesting instructions on bottle are wrong? Says add to 'near empty' gas tank and then add 'up to 21 gallons of gas'.

This is $43 with S&S. It's not an amazing deal, but 'good' as mentioned. Pretty typical, annual deal.

They do this 'sale' once or twice a year and I just stock up.

Note this deal is the 'high mileage' version and not the 'concentrate plus'.

I have been using the (non high mileage) chemical for over a decade in my 2010 Honda Odyssey with great results...I use it only once a year that too when my fuel tank is low...add it at the gas station then fill it up; my car runs much smoother...don't do it too frequently as it can damage your internal parts from what my good mechanic friend told me.

my truck is only couple years old with low miles ..... no issues at all. My Tacoma ran great until i started to add these cleaner in the fuel system ...Then the good ole p403 check engine light came on... smh ... cost me $1400, .. even the toyota tech said these fuel cleaner can gunk up your cat and ruined it .. your on your own, don't say i didn't warn ya
Why are you using high mileage additive on a new/low-mileage truck? Also, correlation doesn't equal causation. I've used this stuff on my 200k+ Honda Civic for years, still has the original cat and fuel pump/filter in it.

its us who couldnt read it right. they are very clear about it. yes, nearly empty when you fill in this bottle, then immediately right after, fill up the rest of your gas tank. before running your engine. there is a reason for it. they want the chemical to be settled to the bottom of the tank but you need to fill up your tank right after. there is a reason why they instruct you to pour it when the tank is near empty, but then say "up to 21 gallons of gas".

I'm really not sure what you mean. You wrote "people always use it wrong" then went on talking about doing math or something like it was complicated. It's very very clear on the directions how and when to apply this stuff. If "people" get that wrong, not sure what to say... Stick Out Tongue

need to read the rest of my saying after the statement "people used it wrong". i said people mentioned that they used the whole bottle with the empty tank thinking it would provide the better concentration with less gas in their tank.
