just an FYI the * next to the XR is a marketing trick. The trimmer here is the brushed version, DCST925. It's still great, I have it but just want to mention. I would be interested to try the new Brushless version and see if there's any significant increase in power and battery consumption.

I paid 200 for this package two or three years ago - so in the days of tariffs it's seems to be a good deal. The trimmer is heave and heavy duty and the blower - for battery powered - is very good.

Sounds like your happy overall. I've been considering this over some of the other brands since I have a ton of Dewalt tools and like the idea that I can share batteries across them. How heavy is the trimmer? Any worse than a gas Echo/Stihl trimmer? I trim quite a bit and they all seem to get heavy no matter what, but is this more awkward or more heavy than usual?

How's the blower? Good enough for grass clippings and light leaves? I have a backpack blower for real deal mess. I just need something good enough to blow off surfaces after cutting the grass and all. I use a 40V Kobalt blower at a relatives house when I help out and that thing is a beast.

FWIW the brushless trimmers are known for the motors burning out. I just had my neighbor's apart a few weeks ago to check since apparently sometimes it's undersized wires in the handle that burn out. A replacement motor is like $90 on eBay. I've been interested in one so maybe the brushed version is longer lasting?

I bought this on the last deal. Haven't opened it yet because I read something about the head being a frustration. Can anyone who has this confirm if there are issues with the head or it's a silly design?

I don't think it's frustrating, fairly similar to all other trimmer heads

I've had the air vents on the motor get blocked with grass and burn one up (at least I assumed that was the cause). Now I always take the shop vac and suck out the vents after use.

prerty similar to the speed feed, inside pushes down and can turn the knob.
