Be careful buying this on woot. I bought the m12 ratchet on Woot from the deal earlier this month. It was used and in poor condition. There was no mention in the listing about it being a refurb or open box, let alone used.

Amazon purchased Woot in 2010. So you are talking about an experience from 15+ years ago? Everything you buy on Woot is easily returnable for a full refund if you are not satisfied. Very little risk.

Great little tool, use it for working on my truck all the time. Also doubles a a weaker right angle wrench, just get a 3/8x1/4" magnetic bit.

Be careful buying this on woot. I bought the m12 ratchet on Woot from the deal earlier this month. It was used and in poor condition. There was no mention in the listing about it being a refurb or open box, let alone used.

From my past experience ( have not purchased in years now ) the had sold used and possibly defective items. This was prior to Amazon purchasing them however.

Unfortunately, getting used items is always a risk when ordering online. Personally, I've had really good luck with Woot (I've only used them since they were purchased by Amazon). I have had to request refunds a couple times but both times they just refunded me without having to return the item so I'm not sure how the return process works.

I ordered it on woot last time it was posted. Seemed new when it arrived and it works fine.

As far as the ratchet itself, it is slower and weaker than I thought it would be, but I enjoy using it anyway. It is really interesting how you can use it like a normal ratchet to break something loose, then pull the trigger to spin the fastener off the rest of the way.

This is a tool only so not that great of a deal. If you don't mind spending a little more you can get this, the battery, charger and a drill for $99.
This is not a powerful ratchet, you can't use it to break bolts. With that being said this is still a very useful tool if you are in the m12 system.

This is a win in a way, because you contact customer service and then they offer you a full refund (happened to me with some microsd cards i bought from them) but they let me keep the item

A few posts from last time mentioned breaking loose with hand ratchet first. These Milwaukees are designed to use as normal ratchets?

In an ideal world, you would break loose with a breaker bar or just a wrench, then use this ratchet (Ain't nobody got time for that). In practice people just break by hand with the ratchet in the locked position, then run it to spin it once it's loose. I haven't found a definitive source on how much force is too much when breaking with this ratchet but my good friend chat gpt claims it's 60 ft/lbs (vs. the official 35 ft/lbs when running the tool as intended). Just make sure you're not applying force at the battery.

I looked into this a while back and this tool was made to break the bolt by hand and then spin it off. 60ft lbs is probably about right, it's strong but i wouldn't be leaning on it or anything.

in contrast, the ryobi version of this tool (both are owned by the same parent company) is NOT made to break the bolt, you are supposed to use a separate tool

Up to it's "breaking torque", at least- there's a small part called the "anvil" that will snap. It's tempting, but for the bigger stuff, start with breaker bar, end with beam torque wrench.
