Was a much better deal at $29 the last time around (2024.06.02). Makes decent rice once you figure out how... Has a lot of really dumb design issues. Cannot really read the embossed markings inside the metal cook bowl. The plastic "measure" used is not an actual cup? Why??? No simple/convenient way to actually lift the metal cook bowl out of the unit when rice is finished/done. (IE to season, mix, serve a large batch of cooked rice, no handle, no grip recess). The "done" chime is SO quiet you won't hear unless you are standing immediately next to the unit...useless). I still use the cooker all the time, but it is far from perfect.
Anyone here actually own this rice cooker? Most of the Amazon reviews look like free item giveaways in exchange for the usual AI generated review fluff.
I own an older model of this. It's nice as a rice cooker but it works really great as a slow cooker!!! Like a more "advanced" version of a crock pot.
It has a saute function that lets you fry ingredients on it like you're cooking on the stove. Then you can add your liquids and rest of the ingredients and slow cook it. I usually slow cook on the "soup" setting which is hotter than the "high" slow cook setting.
