I've been looking to grab one of the ultimate 2, but they make it so confusing between wireless vs Bluetooth when they both support 2.4g and Bluetooth… some people are saying bt is better for the switch while wireless is better for pc?
Is there some clear comparison between the two anywhere?
Got one and love it, using with a mini pc for fortnite and emulators. I wish the battery was a little better and the software is a little wonky, but great controller.

Agreed, I was able to find this YouTube video about a week ago that does a good comparison between the two. Basically it comes down to compatibility, button lay-out, and input lag.
The Wireless version has the X-Box lay-out for buttons, whereas the Bluetooth version has Switch lay-out. The polling frequency on the Wireless is 1000 Mhz vs 250 Mhz on the Bluetooth version (Even when it is set to 2.4 mode and using the dongle). And for compatibility the Bluetooth works with Switch right out of the box for all inputs, while the Wireless one needs an update and may have some wonkiness to it with Switch, not guaranteed to be fully compatible.
I have an original Bluetooth Ultimate that I use for PC, but looking to upgrade to the Ultimate 2, and likely the Wireless, since it's for PC.
I would prefer they had a Switch compatible variant on sale then I would be more inclined to buy it since it would also be compatible w/ both PC and Android as well.

Might want to do some research on the Bluetooth model with Android, because I'm hearing that it's iOS compatible, but that Android has issues. Hence why they have tried to really separate Switch and PC/Android with the Bluetooth and Wireless versions.
There is also the polling rate variation between the two, 1000 vs 250 Mhz, which can be somewhat significant as well if you play fast twitch based games.

This one is Switch 1 & 2 compatible but you have to use the 2.4ghz dongle to make it work . Have to press y and then power on the controller and it works (enable a setting in switch 2 something about pro wired controllers) .
Absolutely love mine. Use it on Android and a desktop PC all the time.
The joysticks AND triggers are More sensitive than any official xbox controller I've ever used (3 Xbox series S controllers and 4 xbox 360 controllers).
I cannot say enough good things about it.

I liked the old one, but the only thing missing for me was trigger stops. So I bought this one day one. It's a solid controller all-around, and the back buttons are very good IMO. Tactile and easily ignored if necessary.
Only con: The handles aren't angled much, so it's not great for people with wider frames.
Don't listen to the shills. There's a reason this item is frequently returned on Amazon. 8bitdo is one of the most aggressive advertising and gives out free sh|t like it's candy!
Though the physical built quality is nice for this controller, the internals are HORRIBLE! Constant disconnects, bluetooth issues (multiple computers) and sticky keys eventually.
Avoid this product like the plague. You've been warned.

I hate to see you post negatively about a line of excellent controllers. It appears you may not even have reviewed the item, since you talk about "sticky keys"?
I have been buying 8BitDo controllers and accessories for years now, and they are top of the line as far as build quality. I open them up, inspect them, review them, perform button swaps (they sell button kits if you prefer eastern/western layout) and have yet to see a single internal failure on any of my devices - and I own at least 12 controllers, a retro keyboard and mouse combo, and various other items from their product lines. No joke, they are one of my favorite product lines due to their reliability, build quality, and ergonomics.
So, if you're having connection issues - it's likely not the controller. Check your BT drivers on the computer(s) you are using (maybe that's what has sticky keys?). 8BitDo also keeps their devices updated with firmware updates, so make sure you have the latest FW as well. Your over generalized statement disguised as a public service announcement ("You've been warned") seems more like a vendetta or user ignorance than actual good intel.

Found the shill. 100%. This company is absolutely relentless for giving people free controllers to defend their products.
I've got 5 of their controllers. Only 1 is actually good and working. The ultimate 1 & 2 both have the connectivity issues and we tried this on 5 computers (LAN party w/ friends). It has nothing to do with drivers, these controllers are defective and they know it.

Have the ultimate Bluetooth for the pc and works great for the past year. And I bought the green 2C for me and my partner to play split two on through moonlight using the dongle and Bluetooth on steam deck, no issue either. I don't doubt wireless issues with a LAN, hoping you tried dongle as well and not just Bluetooth. Sucks though when you think of Xbox controllers that can push that setup scenario no problem but 3rd party just lacks. For the price point, they have the market until someone else comes along. Or if first party decides to offer better repairability. Bc I have a slew of broken Xbox controllers that cost way more than these and given me way less.
