I've used every brand of treadmill out there. Yes the checklist is good. But the reviews are garbage. There's a reason they are dumping them at this price. Not repairable. Not serviceable. Defective design. sold out now so guess it doesn't matter. you will never pay less than $1K for an ok 60x20 tread belt that actually works for a year. When you start looking, get the longest running platform you can find even if you are short.

Any specific recommendations for one that folds? Preferably that doesn't cost more than a g.

That is going to be difficult to find new post covid inflation. Sales are everything. And treadmills go fast. I've found them randomly but they sell out in minutes. Someone could be a billionaire if they mass produced these under $1K and foldable. Parts all come from China, you'll never find anything else. OEM names blow their money on worthless advertising instead of selling at lower cost.

Last three years I've bought "used" from the small chain gyms Snap Fitness and AnytimeFitness. I put out messages to a bunch of local gyms. Some want to dump their units for newer models to keep members interested. That is where you really find your best deals on high end treadmills that have a ton of years left. I cannot emphasis that enough. Maybe PlanetFitness locations would let some go too. Avoid the advanced display units. Never buy those. They always fail and your belts will not work without that dumb touchscreen communication.

Ok so what's the ones to get if there's a sale?

Nordick Track Direct

Dicks Sporting Goods

Good luck in the next two years with them. Those have been your only options when available. The other box stores are gone in 5 minutes.
