Saw this in store and was very well built. It was decently light compared to my HP Omnibook 7 I recently purchased from Costco. Only downside for some could be the screen if you prefer OLED, but will have longer battery life.

Yeah but so few reviews, and after reading them not too concerned. One was a DOA laptop, which happens, no big deal you return. Another guy went off on only having Full HD resolution on a 14" laptop, so can disregard that review. And then someone had the fp scanner stop working and somehow got completely locked out of their own PC ... so not really concerned about any of those reviews.

Just check out the reviews for laptops in general at Costco - there are very few highly rated ones. I was initially discouraged, because I'm in the market for a new laptop and wanted to purchase from Costco given the 90 day return window and second year of warranty coverage. But after looking closer, many of the other laptops that are not highly rated also have a low review count and are similar to what eryeal mentioned. Unless you see a number of reviews complaining about similar issues, I think if you find one at Costco with the price/specs you want then your best bet is to try it and make use of the extended return window if needed.

Debating between this one and the similarly speced Lenovo that's on sale for the same price: https://www.costco.com/lenovo-sli...62052.html

I purchased this a few weeks ago from Costco when it was the same price as a college laptop for my daughter. The only weak point I would say is that the chassis around the touchpad and the top of the lid feels a little on the cheaper side - there's a little bit of give if you push against the metal. I'm not sure how durable it will be in the long run. But the rest of it is nice, keyboard and trackpad are above average and the screen is plenty bright enough - obviously it doesn't compare to an OLED, but I appreciate that it has a matte finish, which is really needed in a classroom setting.

Retailer reviews for electronics - with a few exceptions like Newegg, Amazon - are almost always unhelpful. As an aside, it was very difficult to find reviews for the Intel version of this laptop. Most reviews are for the AMD model or the EliteBook Ultra.

EDIT: Notebookcheck apparently posted a review of this model last week: https://www.notebookcheck.net/HP-...441.0.html

I have an existing HP laptop and the chassis around the touchpad sunk in 2 years into the purchase without any accident per se. now my touchpad is positioned diagonally sunk in, if that makes sense.

The 16gb for $650 at Best Buy was a better deal last week. You are paying $350 more for additional 16gb. Those are apple prices.
