Pro tip: Always fresh install these and never use the OS as it is. Also, just something to consider is that these almost never come with NVMe drives. It's usually SATA M.2 which are much slower.
Ace Magic is a super scammy company. Their PCs have been known to come preloaded with viruses. They also carry no parts (against right to repair laws requiring them to do so) and make their warranty process purposefully difficult to use to that it is worthless. Customer support is pretty typical for a Chinese company. That is to say, nearly non-existent and some version of "go f*** yourself." As someone who has personally been burned by this company, I recommend staying away.
Right to repair a $100 computer? At some point its too expensive to even ship the part.
They were sloppy with system images, but that was "known" in a past incident, not current.
Yes, customer support for a cheap as dirt product is nonexistent, go figure.
You can always buy a $599 m4 mac mini and spend $20 a month for apple care and be done with it if you want premium service.

Windows update is brutal for n1xx no matter which one it is lol
These work great with Dietpi for X86 which is based on debian linux. Lightweight..easy package management and I'm using it as my docker host/media pc for Jellyfin. The hardware encoding/decoding which includes HEVC (and decoding for AV1) make it handle media well without thrashing the cpu. I replaced a raspberry pi and couldn't be happier with it. This also eliminates the issue of malware being included in the windows software. Oh I also replaced the sata ssd with a nvme one as well as adding a usb 3.x hard drive dock for backups. (dietpi-backup can take daily "snapshots" of the system you can restore to).
Anyone tried installing Libreelec on one of these?
Should run it fine since it's just a basic linux distro running kodi. I'm currently running dietpi for x86 which is based on debian without issue. I DID have to make sure I was running a more recent kernel but that was just installing a package so it supported the N150 cpu for hardware encoding/decoding. This was mainly because debian is running on an older "more stable" release. Libreelec probably already has a more recent kernel.
The makes for a great little Home Assistant OS unit.
Do you have a tutorial you recommend applicable to the docker version of home assistant? I'd love to have local access and automations for my tapo cameras and smart outlets but I don't find it intuitive at all.

I have a very similar Ace magician Mini. I think that it is an excellent machine for my use. Web pages load very fast using Chrome. I don't have a lot of apps on it. I use it as a Plex server among other things. I use online website editing apps and have used it to create a few new websites. I bring it to my vacation home, easy to carry, and use it on a 32" monitor. My home work station uses two 27" screens and it handles them fine as well. This mini surprised me. I think that if you are a light user it will serve you well. I actually use a Chromebook as my main computer. This compares nicely to a quality Chromebook in speed and function. I know, I know, a Chromebook. However, I have used very high spec Windows computers for years for work so I feel that I can say that this will serve you well if you know it's limits.

The GMKTec NucBox G3 Plus comes with 16GB DDR4 RAM and a 512GB NVME drive. It has an extra slot if you want to add a shorter SATA drive. It is currently $168.00 on their site before $3 shipping insurance.
I got it a few weeks ago for $159 out the door. That included shipping, taxes, and shipping insurance.
Of course as with all these devices I extracted the Windows 11 Pro Key, wiped it, and installed Linux.

Not just sloppy outright backdoors into their mini-pcs. This is definitely not a trustworthy company and surprise surprise it's not just me saying so once again.
Probably safer to get a couple of used mini-pcs from reputable companies like Dell and HP that won't screw you over like Acemagic.

I wouldn't put windows on it at all... these are pretty much made for light weight linux distributions. also makes a FANTASTIC lightweight server for stuff like home assistant, plex (or other media servers like emby, etc.), music servers, web servers (especially great for stuff like nextcloud or project management apps or todo apps), etc. also fantastic for a set top box as it's got hardware decoding running something like kodi

Usually better to get 12gb of DDR5 vs 16gb of DDR4.
