Any reason not to get that for $479 - 5% (prime) - 5% (young adult) discounts and then add your own 48GB / 64GB SO-DIMMs and SSDs? $629 (another $150) for a 1TB SSD and 32GB of RAM (that some will need to toss in order to upgrade) might not be a deal for everyone.
Warning 4060/5060 low profile runs like a blast furnace in these, very poorly designed case.
I can confirm this. I bought this same Minisforum but from Micro Center and then purchased the 5060 low profile card. The computer would crash after playing oblivion remastered due to temps. The only way I was able to play was with the side plate off and even then the temps still hovered around 89-90 degrees celcius

Yeah, I have one of these I was using for VMWare and I was considering using it for gaming. Maybe a PCIe extension to make it an eGPU?

What's your Vmware experience like? 8.03uG? How's it all working? NIC experiences? Max ram experiences? Do you cluster them with vcenter integration and such?

I second this as well. Had an LP 4060 in mine. Everything was super hot even after upgrading to noctua fans and adding an extra intake/exhaust. Mobo and proc are good, but not in this case they made. Would avoid.

I just returned the whole thing and custom built ground up in a formd T1. Was more expensive but don't have to mess around with any eGPU which starts to get pretty expensive on it's own.

VMWare 8 has worked just fine. I have a Windows DC running on it with 64GB RAM installed in the system. I had to get a PCIe NIC that worked with VMWare as the Realtek wasn't compatible, and they removed the ability to slipstream third party drivers in VMWare 8.
It did seem to nix one of the PCIe 4.0 SSDs I had installed, but I haven't tried a 3.0 to see if it will detect it. I'm guessing the small board is rather limited on PCIe lanes.

Did the SSD ever work? What nixed the SSD? A firmware update? An ESXi update? Something else?
Any reason not to put a 10GB NIC in there? (Home infrastructure would be one reason - ha)
Is low profile or normal profile PCIe cards / NICs required?

1. I haven't tested it yet (been super busy for the last couple months)
2. No reason not to unless VMWare doesn't support it
3. Low profile
