Also if the airtag is facing down wont it block the tracking?
I'm not an expert on RFID, but I can try to give my layperson's understanding.
The way RFID works is there is a passive circuit in your credit card, that will produce a response when exposed to electromagnetic waves.
RFID readers record this response to indicate a form of payment. Some RFID readers can not only receive a response, but they can also replay the response, pretending that they in fact are in possession of a credit card.
RFID blockers are basically a piece of metal that prevents electromagnetic waves from passing through. If you notice, the airtag is placed outside of the wallet with no metal blocking it, so it won't be affected by the blocker for the credit cards.
