Looks like, based on price history, it has been $12.18 for the past few months?

These are garbage batteries and not the same high quality Varta as 20+ years ago before their consumer battery division was sold to Rayovac. I bought 100 three years ago and they are notorious leakers that seem to self discharge at higher than normal rates.

What are you using to check?
Keepa is showing 90 &180 day averages of $19. Given, the price trackers don't "see" coupon discounts, unless you've found one that does?
I still don't think this is a good buy, but I'm interested in the methodology 😆

These batteries are prone to leaking, and they also hold less energy than most other brands. Some are also nearly dead on arrival so out of the 100 pack don't be surprised if you get a dozen or more random ones that only last 1/2 the time all your other batteries lasted for. I use 6 AAA batteries in a pepper grinder, and 4 AAA batteries in each of my wired food thermometers, and this pack had somewhere between 10-15 half-charged batteries but I don't have a battery capacity meter right now so I can't test every one to see which one is the problem, so I have to play musical batteries and keep switching one out until I get find the bad one like I'm playing Mastermind. Save yourself the hassle of having to individually test all 100 and just spend a little more money to buy a 100-pack that actually has 100 good batteries in it every time.

I haven't had any of these leak, but they do seemingly lose charge even in storage.
