Later on he just lacked time to continue his training schedule so he had to find ways to maintain it.
Edit; I've only read the autobiography written by John Little. Like every single autobiography I've read it did have a number of inaccuracies. I guess inaccuracies is wrong word. If was accurate as far as John knew it. He just took Bruce at his word for a lot of things.
