I'm not TC'ing and I think this a good deal. But don't be misled by thinking that you can't be scammed on Aliexpress when the item is supposedly shipped from the US. Last year I purchased an item from Ali that showed as delivered with tracking, but I never received it. Seller had shipped a piece of junk to a different address in my city. This is a common scam. Again, I'm not saying this is what will happen with this bike, but if tracking says it was received and you didn't get it, you know what's going on.

I know exactly what you mean. Because of that, I installed "up assistant" extension on Chrome which gives you more in depth analysis on the seller. For example, this seller is getting an 8% trust rating with 15.7% neutral/bad reviews.

I had ordered two of these. One came perfectly packaged brand new box and awesomely packed. The other…they sent me a used broken bike with no padding, no parts or key. Box was destroyed by the time it made it to me with a loose bike bouncing around in it. Aliexpress wants me to ship it back. Shipping cost is 560 dollars… more than the bike. I've opened a dispute with my credit card but who knows what will happen now. Waiting to see what happens. Best part is I can't leave a review on the bad one to give others a warning of what happened when buying an ebike on Aliexpress goes wrong. Really hoping my credit card company does the right thing. The bike is not rideable from damage and doesn't even have the required parts to put it together.

No. Just don't go too fast and be mindful on the roads.

Assembling it is the trickiest part since instructions are not clear. Look for youtube videos or ask questions here if you have trouble with it. It is mostly pre-assembled but it still took me an hour to figure out where everything goes. I had to make sure everything was tightened correctly. Wiring is just plugging the headlight in.

If you are not that tall, your feet may have a hard time touching the ground so be careful with extra passengers.
Thank you very much. This is very helpful and I appreciate you taking the time.

None UL listed. Man, it's just getting cheaper and cheaper to start your own chemical fire. Exploding batteries are common enough that they rarely make the news anymore. Have you heard about EV Jeeps not being allowed in parking structures? Do people think the quality here is going to be better than a car manufacture? The risk vs reward doesn't seem worth it.
Watch, these Chinese manufactures are just pulling a mossad and we're paying to bomb ourselves. These are time bombs.
is the genuine consensus that non-UL listed lithium batteries are a major fire risk? what percentage of this is fear mongering vs legitimate risk?

Almost every home in america has cheap chinese lithium batteries in multiple things large and small these days, yet it's still very rare to have fires. Even expensive batteries that are labeled things other than made in china are likely full of cheap chinese cells, so you'd need to be a complete luddite to avoid that tiny tiny risk entirely. Think of how many rechargeable things you have from weed wackers to toys to laptops to phones, they all have that tiny risk.

It's in between fear mongering and reality, litiums from years ago were more prone to fire but battery chemistry has changed and become much safer.

When possible, always use PayPal to bill your credit card.
PayPal is then the first line of defense. But most credit cards have fraud protection, and you can use that as a second line of defense.
Also, you can sometimes get some PayPal reward points in addition to your credit card's cash back/rewards. So, that's just an extra bonus.
this is terrible "advice"....

It is a legit risk. Ive seen too many scooters catch fire to think it is just fear mongering.

Personally I wouldnt take the risk keeping it in my house but that is just me.

The picture sure makes it look tiny. How does this ride for a 6' tall adult?

6'3 here, no issues pedaling or anything. Bike actually feels like it was made for people over 6 feet

Got mine delivered a week ago. Shipping was fast and came packaged nicely. This thing is hella fast and comfortable. It has a horn and turn signals too! At this price it's a no brainer. It tackles hills with ease and I'm 6ft 225 pounds.

just curious, does the brake light warning come on the screen whenever you use your brakes?

Yeah that's me, I try to stick to local roads with low speed limits/bike paths but a lot of the time you have to take a higher speed road to get somewhere in America.

About 5000 lithium battery fires a year in the US. But that includes fires in the trash, vape pens etc. To put that into perspective there are 200,000 vehicle fires a year.

I'm sure some people feared gasoline or electricity in homes when those first came out, or even fire itself when we were still living in caves. The future is clearly lithium given that it's the most electrically positive element on the periodic table, so I think we're stuck with these batteries. We just have to develop some common sense in handling them. I bought a lipo bag out of "fear mongering", but then returned it. Based on the videos I've seen and the fact that these fires burn 1500-5000 degrees, I really doubt the plastic zipper is really going to be protective.
