Almost all the reviews on those products are by Vine customers. I sold products on Amazon before and paid for Vine, and in my experience, those reviewers barely used the products for a couple of days before writing their reviews. And their reviews were almost always 4-5 stars.

I filtered the 214 reviews to "verified purchases only" which narrowed it down to....3 non-Vine reviews.

The problem with Vine is that you have a deadline to meet, and if you request a lot of stuff and don't schedule reviews for near that deadline, you could miss it and lose access. So it's safer to do them early.
Which probably won't work out well for things like laptop batteries, where you really need to run them through 5-10 full cycles to be sure they're "good". Finding the time to set them up to run long YT vids or whatever to run them down without impacting your time for other projects can be a pain.
I just got something and I'm going to probably give it a 3-star because the design isn't for me, but the flaws (for ME) weren't evident in the listing. BUT for others, the design may work perfectly, so it might end up with higher marks for them. My goal on the review is to note why it isn't for ME, but why it may be for others, highlighting what I think was lacking in the listing.

basically they're not going to select you if you get bad reviews.
If you see Vine reviews that are garbage, report them.Vine members are required to leave reviews for everything they request in order to keep getting stuff, so most of them are just lazily participating. The system is flawed in that quantity over quality mostly determines ranking (and higher ticket items scale with ranking).
I've seen dozens of Vine reviews before, but 211 out of 214 is absurd. That is what really caught me off guard, but yes, I agree with you, most of them are not objective.

It's a slippery slope.
First you're expanding to 4 ports, then 6 ports, and now 9 ports.
When does it end?
