I've always been happy with the quality of Sunlu's filament. But, the incompatibility of their newer spools with the Bambu AMS has me holding off on buying anything of theirs until they change them.

I'm not wasting my own time and material to print tires to attach to their spools just to make them work.

I'm new to sunlu.

I ordered multiple rolls of sunlu black PLA recently. First roll, has had bed adhesion issues, warping prints, and has caused multiple nozzle jams.

I wound up throwing out half the spool.

Worst filament I've used so far. I'm hesitant to try the other rolls.

People seem to like sunlu, but from reviews it seems it might be luck of the draw with getting a good/bad batch.

I havent used Sunlu yet, but when I have gotten a bad roll of filament from Amazon I just returned it partially used. For me that is the benefit of Amazon, quick shipping and easy returns.

I just bought 2 spools, what is the issue with sunlu rolls on Bambu AMS?

The outside diameter of their newer spools is smaller than most other spools on the market.

As a result the spools tend to drag on the bottom of the AMS and it keeps the rollers of the AMS from making good contact with the roll. It frequently causes issues with filament feed, especially on retraction.

In mine I've found that I can only get simply filament to work in the 1st slot of the AMS.

Been using Sunlu PLA filament for 6+ months now with no issues on an Bambu H2D and 2X A1 Minis. For the AMS lite, you will need a spool adapter which works very well. Several of them on Makerworld. Love the all plastic reusable spools that Sunlu uses.

there isn't a issue with the new spools in the AMS, maybe and lite I have used 25 spools petg and PLA with new spool no issues. The other guy with adhesion issues was probably user error or dirty plate

are you guys printing faster than the 100mm/s advertised speed? I have a kobra 3 that prints pretty fast so ideally would like filament that can handle faster speeds (300mm/s or faster).

Their new spools (gen 3) are the same size as Bambu spools. They're even reusable and have a notch to hold Bambu refills from spinning. It's their older spools that are slightly smaller, but there's an adapter that can be printed to expand their size to work in the AMS.

Gotta love the one photo that says "Random shipping - you may receive the old spool or the new spool"
I do love Sunlu filament though. Good stuff.
