The low soldered RAM situation should give anyone pause if they intend to do anything more than casual browsing or word processing. Too bad. These Veros used to be great for upgrading/working on. But 2 Thunderbolt ports partially makes up for it.

If the 8gb is soldered, then yeah, this isn't as good of a deal as it seemed at first. However, I think people overestimate how much RAM the average person needs. Would I want a computer that only has 8gb of RAM? No. But I'm fairly confident most casual users wouldn't notice. Heck I bought my parents a mini PC a few years back with 8gb RAM and was thinking of upgrading it but they have zero complaints. They use Chrome and have 5 tabs open up at most.

Yes. They offer both configurations but the ram is soldered and no open slots
