It will turn on when the room gets dark and turn off when you walk in and flip a wall switch in a difficult part of the room. These are low power lights meant to stay on all night.

Why do you need motion detection, trying to scare intruders?
Adding motion detection circuitry would use more power than you'd save by turning off nightlights in an empty room (plus the extra cost of the circuitry, plus the annoyance of having it go dark if you're too still)
