While I am disappointed in the cpu I just couldn't pass this up. Here are a couple of deals that popped up recently that are comparable but also had issues:

Overall this is a great deal. I've had good experiences with Asus and the 4060 is definitely a step up. The cpu while slightly inferior is still a solid chip.

Yes and two RAM slots as well. It also has a MUX switch for the video output, which is awesome at this price point. Wish it had a better CPU, but otherwise an amazing deal.

Have you tried removing bloatware or clean install windows? Have you looked at task manager to see if memory or cpu is maxed out?
In market for a laptop. Thought about this or waiting until Black Friday. However if it has issues as you describe, I feel better waiting

Download HWinfo64 and see if you're thermal throttling. I had a 12600H version of this laptop with a 3060 and it would throttle unless I limited TDP to the CPU using Armory Crate, or disabled Turbo completely.

This. Armory Crate is notorious for slowing down PCs. I think Steve at GN and Jay did an article on this. I pretty much tell anyone with a ASUS Laptop, MB, etc to don't install it or uninstall it completely.

as someone mentioned, the cpu is too weak, MC had one with 13700hx + 4060 for the same price last August

Take games out of the equation, and 1080p is even worse for laptop- you're limited to bad graphics if editing vid/photos, inability to scale things to fully make use of screen space, etc.. SD is so full of people that have no practical experience, that comment incessantly, and don't bother researching.. so yeah, that's about the only thing you're right on.

Thought people complained about 4060 (much less mobile variant) power. 1080p would be the sweet spot for games for the mobile 4060 and this CPU. Are you saying you can get stable 144 frames in modern games with this laptop were it to be 2k resolution? I am not talking about playing with all low video card settings in games.

Fact is that this is a great choice for what it is: a $650 laptop from a well-respected brand that can physically stand up to less-than-gentle treatment. Is it the pinnacle of gaming laptops? Of course not - and if you're expecting that from a $650 laptop, you're delusional. This laptop is good for someone who wants to be able to game playing modern titles and not worry about needing to find the 'sweet spot' with all the graphics settings. Run games at native resolution with all the settings maxed on games and enjoy good framerates.

If you're complaining about the processor and the resolution, then spend another $400+ and get a laptop with a Ryzen 7 or 9 and 1440P resolution, on a different brand system.
