Just remember that the Pixel 10 is launching in a couple weeks. Decent chance Best Buy has the trade in an iPhone 13 or whatever and get one free like they have the last couple years. I would definitely wait unless you need a phone immediately.

I tried that, iOS is so incredibly primitive that I'd rather use a buggy Pixel than an iPhone.

Pixel 10 is coming out August 20. It might be worth waiting a couple weeks to see what deals are out then.

This budget devices are released 6 months behind the Pro launch, so this will be the current device for the next 6 months at this slot.

Good price to pair with the $150 6a rebate.
Isn't it just kinda... meh really? Assuming you're talking about the $150 replacement credit for upgrading a 6a with a supposed problematic battery?
If you do a normal trade-in instead you'd get $75 credit towards the 9a PLUS the $100 check you can opt for instead of the $150 replacement credit. Or $175 off and $25 more than the replacement $150.

EDIT: Looks like maybe the $150 replacement credit doesn't require sending in the old Pixel 6a, so you can actually do both $150 for the battery problem and $75 trade-in credit...?

So funny to see people TD comments like this. It's a subjective opinion, but people who hate Apple will just TD your comment anyways out of spite.

Is your issue with Android in general or just the Pixel? Why not try another brand?
All oem android, especially anything we see on here is a spamhaus.
Even "stock google" doesn't really mean anything anymore since Google send you more notifications and opt you into more stuff than you ever wanted.
The only way you can feel safe on an android phone nowadays is with lineage or graphite.

Thanks for your thoughts on this -- This is exactly what I have been considering -- buy this or wait for a (possibly) better deal in a few weeks. I would also be fine with a Pixel 8 or 8a if it was a better deal.

Anybody know how long the code takes? I was given a case number and they said "a Google representative will contact me within 3 weeks."

For some reason it marked my phone as being owned by someone else.

Weirdly, a few weeks ago I had registered for the free battery upgrade. It said I could switch to payment if I preferred. That time, it recognize the phone as mine. Same IMEI. Weird.

Far too many reasons to list, but one simple example is you can't choose your own browser or default maps. No Firefox with uBlock Origin. Apple locks you to their services. The notification system is a joke (no history, no interactions, no dynamic controls). It's an OS built for a child, not a grown adult.
weird how "people like you" go on about ios users supposed superiority complex when it's you, right now in your post, crying about features and making childish insults 😂 issa phone, it doesn't matter. If it does, you're paying too much attention to your screen.
Now - release the epstein files.

It's not a subjective opinion. iOS treats the user as if they are dumb, Android treats the user like they are capable of making their own decisions. People choose accordingly.

Epstein and company use an iPhone. Keep that in mind. I don't want to be associated with that kind of person. 😉

Dude, I wasn't even talking to you. Are you literally monitoring this thread waiting to be hostile to people and instigate arguments?
Let people buy what they want and stop being childish.

I finally got my $150 code from the Pixel 6a battery issue.
What do you think, should I buy this Pixel 9a for my mother? With the code it will be $250.
My dad will get her old Pixel 6a. He is not very tech savvy so the older phone is still an upgrade for him. He is using an ancient Oneplus 7Pro that has stopped getting updates.

Should I wait for 10a to do this? The code is valid until July 21 2026.
I guess that's 8 months away?

I had one of the early pixels. It was great for two years, then started having random issues (I was constantly restarting the pixel) I have a Samsung now and it has had no issues. So I don't think it's Android.
I've been pretty lucky with pixels had a 2 3 and now a 5 that I've been using for the last 4 years without issue. I just jumped on the 9A deal at Google fi where it's 250 for existing customers. the five is still great but I cracked the screen and the battery is pretty awful after 4 years of daily use.

People TD comments like this because they're not helpful. Why are they even commenting?
