Pixel 2 was an amazing device. Compact, flawless fingerprint reader, amazing camera. Battery started to seriously degrade towards end of 2nd year as expected. Replaced with 4a 5g. Pretty solid overall, but atrocious battery life from the start. Enter 6a - horrible on-screen fingerprint reader, issues with battery yet again. Terrible overheating while using GPS. Now Pixel 8, randomly developed a permanent pink line in the screen which is a known defect requiring I mail my device to Google for at least 10 days while they repair it under warranty. Also, again, constantly overheats while using GPS for more than an hour. Freezes and can't make any calls, requiring a restart. Approaching end of year 2 and lose 60% battery by 5pm with light use.
Now heap the intrusive "AI" crap Google is pushing all the time... I'm done with Pixels.
For Google Fi users like myself - Go to Google Fi >shop there you will see the 128G shows $499 - $249 and zero intereest 24 mo payments, they also offered me $90 for my 6a trade-in so supposed total cost to me of $160 for the upggrade. When going to payment it showed my total cost without trade in being $499-$499 (discount) charging me $14.99 to my CC (assuming this is tax on $249 since I'm at 6% here will be very interested to see what the net cost is... my phone arrives in a weeks time supposedly.
My last Pixel purchase (the 6A) cost me $250 charged over 24 mo 0% on the same Google Fi offering deal, the $10/mo charge ended as prescribed so no funny business on their part, I wound up seeling the previous phone the 6A replaced on eBay for $250 so the net was "0" to upgrade then
