I also use them locally on occasion for quicker trips I dont want to use a cooler or will need my hands for something else.
It's niche, but they have their place where they're optimal or save you from buying and handling a brittle styrofoam cooler.
It just seems that I'd buy a real cooler if I wanted a cooler. Never wanted to carry an 18pk on any meaningful hike.

So this is after I fly somewhere. I'm not buying or bringing a whole hard cooler with me in either direction. The packable one can be squished or used as a backpack. If I have nothing and need a temp cooler, I'm gonna buy the cheapest option, which is a styrofoam cooler.
You don't *only* need to put cans in it. It's a cooler ..anything you want to stay cold can go in it. Your lack of comprehension makes sense if you are ignorant to life outside of the computer chair.
