Also after verification, to not update the firmware as that may nuke the generics.
I can verify this process, as my HP wouldn't recognize generics after a firmware update.
Also, I did the email/text sign-up for $15 off of $60 coupon code (unsubscribing can be done after).
Total with sales tax is $51.78, free delivery.
Repped OP.
Generic inks are available on Amazon, and recent reviews do not mention problems with the non OEM inks.
I bought this printer and it's been a headache ever since. The print head dries up. You'll have to continuously clean the print head to get a nice printout if you don't use it regularly.
You will spend more on replacing the ink continuously.
Do not buy!
Thanks

As soon as I verified generics cartridges and all the printer functions worked, I didn't go any further.
The idea being that you can verify while you can still return the printer.
Also you might be able to bundle with the below offer to receive a free pack of pens.

Re: generic/non-OEM ink, I don't know for sure given there is mixed feedback online. It does seem like good practice NOT to update the firmware. And maybe smart to never insert the starter cartridges in the printer. I personally ordered these ones from eBay for $13 for the 4 pack of XL (500 pages per black and color) and plan on starting with those and possibly never using the starter cartridges.
