This causes dental fluorosis which is in fact cavities and tooth discoloration. There aren't many products that do the exact opposite of what they claim, but this poison is one of them.

Yes, if swallowed in excessive amounts, especially by children under eight years old, fluoride in mouthwash can contribute to dental fluorosis. Dental fluorosis is a cosmetic condition that only occurs while teeth are still developing.
update: went in for cleaning today and hygienist agreed with AI that it is only an issue with developing teeth in children and said Act mouthwash was a good thing.

I highly suggest you dont swallow excessive amounts of any mouthwash
ACT/store brand ACT is probably the best high fluoride mouthwash you can get (not including prescription stuff), but you really want to make sure it says 0.05% sodium fluoride (w/10ml dosage) on the bottle. All kids 16.9oz and some of the 18oz bottles are 0.05%, but other 18oz and all 33.8oz bottles use a much lower strength 0.02% concentration making it no better than the basic mouthwashes out there.
.
This mint 18oz one is 0.05%.
