both are very solid fragrances, I probably wouldn't consider either (or any Tom Ford scents) a "safe" buy though, as a lot of the appeal is the uniqueness of them. grey vetiver is much safer between the two, it's a really nice vetiver fragrance, smells nice and professional. black orchid, the first time I smelled it, made me think "wtf is that? that's horrible" but then a few days later I wanted to smell it again, like I was craving it for some reason.. I ended up buying it a bit later and have a few different variations of it (edt, edp, parfum). This one is heavily "duped" (with decent ones as low as $15, which last all day). definitely a unique scent, but one I've come to love. still nowhere near close to being a safe purchase.

Tom Ford is shit for longevity. Literally every one of them. Even their parfum lines. Otherwise I do like their scents.

That's best of Tom Ford. I have one bottle and I use it pretty occasionally because Ombre Leather seems to be never go on sale.

My Leather Ombre lasts all day, and into the next day. And that's just with one spray.

This is a very challenging fragrance that leans feminine, fair warning, test it first or regret it after. Its suited for cold weather only and many think its for older/mature crowd.

I have both the EDP and the parfum for Leather Ombre, barely lasts 2-3 hours. My Sauvage Elixir however lasts even after I shower.

My Ombre Leather EDP lasts 24 hours every time. It can last through a quick shower. It smells even better after 6-8 hours. I've never had anything like it.

I'm due for a new cologne upgrade. For reference, i've had Aqua Di Gio, Kenneth Cole Black, CK one, and Cool Water in my rotation for the last 20 years for varying occasions. Would I like the Grey Vetiver or the Black Orchid more?

Grey Vetiver is an office scent, very clean professional and masculine. Black Orchid is a unisex fragrance that is very artsy for some. It's a masterpiece but for a tested nose. I'd go with grey Vetiver as you like Acqua de gio. Try to test them first if possible.

Good hygiene, a decent personality and being in good shape go a lot further than any fragrance.
Why not all four?

I've had bad experiences with Creed as they didn't last long and the scents were very mediocre (my own opinion) I've never tried the Viking one. What would say about its longevity and projection, please?
Agreed 100%. Bought Creed Aventus 2x before their PE deal; both bottles had insane longevity.

Saw it at Costco a few years ago - it's ridiculous how quickly the scent fades.

I've put Ombre Leather on at 5:30 a.m. and woke the next day and could still smell it on my skin.

Maybe you're going nose blind to it.

Tom Ford needs to bring back their EDT. That was the best. But this is a good deal.
Do a quick search, it's available out there. The Cosmetics Company was selling the EDT for cheap actually.

I wouldn't blind buy either. Go to a department store and smell some fragrances and go by that. The fragrances that I like you might hate. There are like 4000 new fragrances released every year, I'm sure one of them has your name on it. 😆
