I got mine last week. I had a 12 year old 60" Panasonic plasma prior, so this was a big jump up for me. I'm really impressed with the picture quality and have been using it in filmmaker mode. I don't use Web OS since I have an Apple TV 4K. For anyone else thinking of using one with the TV, it fits perfectly in the little input area in the back. Thanks for spotting the deal OP!

I picked this TV up the last time it was this price and it's absolutely fantastic for this price. You honestly can't do better.

Awesome price, but check your zip code with LG Partners. They still have it for $1620 in some areas

I bought Samsung qn90d 85" when it was on epp sale last month for -1200. Going to be delivered next week. Now contemplating if it's really worth to spend additional 500 for this. Which means I'll get Costco 5 years warranty and an oled. Please advise if anyone have inputs
It comes down to your use case.. Bright room, go Mini LED - like that Samsung qn90D. If it's a dark or "light controlled" room and you want that infinite contrast ratio and don't mind paying for it, get this.

How much do I need to worry about burn-in on these? I'm a casual tv viewer mostly YouTube TV and sometimes a Nintendo switch. Probably using it 5-7 hours a day. This will be in a basement with no windows.

Looking for something that'll last a long time and if the 5yr warranty doesn't cover burn-in will I regret this years down the line?

I'm in the same boat. From everything I've read it seems that the only difference is brightness. Literally the only difference. Everything else is exactly the same. Apparently down to the processor (only applies to the 83"). The 83" has the same A9 chip as the C4 line, whereas the rest of the B4 line gets the A8. So with that said, I might bite on this since the room it's going in is not particularly bright.
Picked it up a few months ago, still gets pretty damn bright when I open the windows and it's needed. Very good set, I have no regrets

LG manufacturer warranty handled by local electric repair store
They almost all work that way. Some pick up the TV and take it back to shop. Some send techs with parts and equipment to try to repair at home. Most are disappointing.

This is all what I thought too, so I pulled the trigger on the B4. What (almost) nobody tells you is that the B4 has a matte screen. My old 8 year old OLED C7 model has a glossy screen and you get those beautiful deep inky blacks. The matte screen on the B4 is seriously disappointing. Any ambient light in the room is smoothed out by the matte screen so all you get is hazy grey. Only at night, say around 6-7pm and later, the picture is beautiful, and when it gets really dark, you get those inky blacks. My errant thought was the B4 might not be bright enough for my living room. No, it's plenty bright enough. But the matte screen ruins the black levels. I can't stress this enough. With the TV powered off, the screen should be all black. My old C7 with a glossy screen is all black. Instead, the B4, even the 83" model, has a matte screen that never gets you true black during the day, just hazy dark grey. I really really wanted to love my B4, and with the Capital One rewards, it's a steal, but it's so hard to keep this one. If you've never had OLED, maybe you'll be fine with this one. But if you've had an OLED with a glossy screen, it's a real let down.
The 83", for some reason, has better specs than it's smaller screen variants. it has a glossy finish. 144hz Virtual refresh rate, and the newest processor. It also has the same panel as the C4.

Bought this when it was on sale last.
Have had it for a month. Maybe used it only a week though since I was out of town.
Friends and family love it and are amazed by the clarity.
It seems bright enough in a room where one wall is all window.
I do have to draw the blinds when the sun is shining directly in the room, but thankfully that is only in the early morning.
All other times the TV is more than bright enough. I was really worried about this so putting this out there for anyone who is similarly worried.

I wouldn't call 7 hours of TV a day "casual", that is nearly 1/3 of the entire day. However, assuming you watch varied content, and are watching YouTube vids in full screen and not windowed, it will be fine. If you do have a habit of watching things with static content like news broadcasts or watch YouTube windowed with all the ui elements showing, eventually you could get burn in.

you guys really have me at a dilemma. i've had a 75" sony for 5-7 yrs. now so i wanted to go bigger since i sit almost 20ft away and it's a decent size living room. so i wanted to go 97" or higher tcl or hisense for a more budget friendly upgrade. but these oled really looks nice but i'm only gaining a few more inces at 83". any suggestions. i want to be future proof for at least another 5yrs since i really don't want to upgrade every year

I WANT IT!!! The thought of "downsizing" from a 85" TV (albeit an LCD) to a 83" irks me a little tho.
