Tapo cameras are working with RTSP, so can be easily working with Home Assistant. Thanks OP!

I do not. Search here for "C210" and you'll uncover a TROVE of SDer experiences, opinions, and anecdotes. TL;DR - people LOVE the stability, clarity, and speed of this ecosystem over the Eufy ecosystem, but miss a couple premium features.I am a heavy Eufy user (15 products currently online) with 2 boxes of TPLink cameras ready to go up at the next major inconvenience.

Eufy is a Chinese brand. TP link is no longer in China but operated by a Chinese national. Google and Amazon hand over video to the feds. Personally, I think TP link is the least of all the evils.

Oh man! Just recently bought the eufy E220 for $25 when it was on sale and listed here. Can probably still return that and get this. Does anybody here have both and can share feedback?

I have quite a few of these C210 and I like them. Recommended. Probably will buy 2 more with this price

im looking to get off my Geeni / Mercury cameras as they dont seem to be updating the software or releasing anything new lately.

Is TP-Link a good alternative to Geeni / Merkury? They were low cost when i bought them but the app and new devices are not being made or updated it feels like.

Is it still good if i dont pay for monthly service? Can i put a SD-Card in my cameras and still get a few days of footage saved and link to geolocation so i can activate when i leave my house and get alerts?

I own both brands, and I prefer TP-Link. The Eufy E220 often fails to record motion, even when I walk directly in front of the camera.

Ok, the biggest question these day for wifi cams. What do you get, if anything, if you do not pay for subscription?

I got a couple Tapo cams on a really good slickdeal (the inside/outside 2k cams were under $20 maybe a year ago to 1.5 years). I picked up another 2 just because they worked well and the quality was "good enough" yet way better than the wyze HD cams I had (albeit older).

With the sub you get cloud storage, which is nice, but Tapo lets you use a micro SD card and retrieve remotely. It works very well with alexa as well in my experience.

Bought a 2 pack about 1 month ago. I do not have the subscription. I store videos on microSD. within the app, it has motion/people detection and does send a push notification if you have it turned on. There are options for loop recording, recording on certain times/days. have it facing my front porch through an interior window and the backyard through a window and it does fairly well. With the Exception of night vision (uses IR and looking through a window causes a reflection).

one thing i don't like about Tapo cameras is that you don't get rich notifications (notification with a screenshot) unless you pay up. eufy is free, and so is wyze.

Major drawback I have experienced with Tapo/TP-Link without paying a subscription is lack of rich notifications. My Wyze (cam lite or whatever the grandfathered tier is called) and Eufy (doorbell, no subscription) provide a snapshot with the motion/person alert. But Tapo merely gives me text.
eta: woldemariam beat me to it, so I 2nd their opinion
