This does not come with the Oris 10 year warranty, as they're not an AD. I've heard horror stories about the 400 movement including Oris outright refusing to service 400 movements NOT purchased from ADs. Used to be a big Oris fan, and their handling of their promising new movement has turned me off to them.

The other comment is not kidding. Oris does not service calibre 400 movements unless they are under official AD warranty. Not even for a paid service out of warranty. Unless you purchase the calibre 400 at an AD (watchmaxx is not), then in the case your watch needs servicing in the US, you are completely out of luck. They require both a warranty card filled out by an AD AND a bill of sale from an AD.
This policy is absolutely ridiculous as it means you cannot even pay for a repair if you buy a calibre 400 grey market, secondhand, were gifted it, or lost the bill of sale. Stay clear of the calibre 400 if you don't buy from an AD. The 10 year warranty means nothing when you buy grey or secondhand. You will end up with a paperweight. I used to love Oris, and owned some of their non in-house movement watches, but this move is absolutely anti-consumer and is a stain on their brand. The Calibre 400 is also prone to issues that they claim were ironed out, but anecdotal evidence says otherwise. It's a shame, when the calibre 400 came out, I was quite excited too.

I almost pulled the trigger on a 400. So glad I did the research before buying. I wouldn't even buy a 400 at this price from an AD. Not even for $800 from an AD. Don't do it.

Thanks for the detailed gouge. I've been looking for a new non-smartwatch for work and this was on the shortlist. I guess all the more reason to just get a dirty dozen clone instead.

Oris is a great brand that hits above its weight. Just avoid anythjng with a 400 caliber movement and you're good.

I already own similar dive watches with much better movements (Omega, Panerai, etc.). The appeal of this deal was the price. Not sure if Oris can deliver a better movement through an authorized dealer at less than 2k.

Stay away from the 400 movement- source : Everyone! It's not worth it. Better off getting a Tag or other brand with a seltta or ETA.
In house doesn't mean better, it means your bound to use their service in perpetutity.

also, only one Oris service center in the whole US, that charges exorbitant prices thinking they are servicing rolexes. I got a quote for over $800 to service a diver 65 as well as over 3 months turnaround time.

I just struck Oris from my shortlist of Brands to buy. I have zero tolerance for warranty games like that. Businesses should honor a warranty no matter what as long as the device is authentic. 😡

While they won't honor your warranty, they'll at least offer to service your watch for a fee, unlike Oris and their 400 movement..

It's not Oris who refuses to service them it's the warranty center. And the reason is there are so many 400 repairs, and probably not enough parts, that it is taking waaay too long to service the non-gray watches.

If you got to their page where it shows the time estimate for service, everything is in months but 400 is so backed up that they don't give any estimate. It's bad the service center won't evem take your money. But they will service non-400 gray watches. So there is a major problem with the 400.

I don't know. I have two Oris watches both with Cal.400. I've had both over 3 years now.

I'm not easy on my watches. I wear them and don't baby them. No problems whatsoever. I believe there are 2 revisions of the 400. I'm not sure which this deal has but I'd have no problem buying another watch with a 400.

There is a bit of a jumpy minute hand when setting but it can be overcome easily. Plenty of reviews on this.

The power reserve is awesome, easily over 3 days. Accuracy is more than acceptable.
