Heart disease deaths have decreased by 66% from 1970 to 2022, what are you even talking about?
Absolute heart disease rates don't matter, because the majority of people don't start taking a statin until after they find they have ASCVD or worse.
About the deal-- yeah, Red Yeast Rice actually has a weak statin in it in doses of varying amounts, including zero. Wouldn't you rather take the same damn thing, but precisely measured and safety inspected?
Population bias.
I took a low dose of it a year or so ago and it reduced my total cholesterol from 240 to 204 in two months. It did this by reducing LDL. The side effect for me was some muscle soreness and cramping.
