Want to highlight couple of points here: -

The Price is really very attractive for the whole combo.
The motherboard has mini-ITX form factor but a custom design. Normally mini-ITX boards come with 2 DIMM slots. Here AsROCK created this custom design to accommodate 4xDIMM slots but reduced the number of SATA ports to 2 from normal 4.
As per the reviews I have checked, with a decent aftermarket low profile cooler, it provides pretty good thermal during gaming with 8 Core parts.
The PSU is standard ATX form factor can be replaced easily.

I would have definitely jumped on this if the seller wasn't Newegg. What a terrible company.

Edit: I apologize to the person below me. I was not aware I could not complain. maybe I have a reason to complain about this company? if so; would it not be a damn shame to not voice my opinion about it? same as we rely every single day on Slickdeals for other users to not just use the website for their benefits but also to share their experiences and their deals!

SATA reduced from 4 to 2 but the board supports 2 NVMe drives so not too bad.

The PSU will unable any coolers taller than the stock wraith cooler if you even got one from the 9600x or others. Big warning. The PSU is ****.

What's the cheapest reasonable AM5 CPU that would give decent workstation results, or light gaming?

Had me interested until I saw this:
" 1x PCIe X16 Gen 4 Slot (Supports a discrete Graphics card up to 20CM)"

Basically a single slot GPU. But you're probably using integrated graphics/APU with this case

Google says: a typical "2 slot" card is about 40 mm thick, and a 2.5 slot card will be slightly thicker, around 50-60 mm

I have a deskmini which is a smaller version of these. I was looking at these for gaming. The Asrock Deskmini/Deskmeet series custom motherboards have random hang problems because inconsistent gpu voltage. it's hard to change to a standard MB from different vendor since they customize the MBs to fit these cases though the Form factor is standard. (ports not accessible/no way run cables because of tight fit etc.) Beware of buying this and please do your research.

The 20CM is the length. The case have a 2 slot design, not sure if fits 2.5 slot card though.

Update, according to Gemini:
Yes, a 2.5 slot graphics card will fit in the ASRock DeskMeet X600. The DeskMeet X600 supports dual-slot graphics cards with a maximum length of 20cm (7.87 inches), according to ASRock. A 2.5 slot card is technically within this limit, but it might be a tight fit depending on the specific card's dimensions, especially in terms of length.

You are confusing length with width. That is 20 "Centimeter" or 200 millimeter length and you are checking width which is 50-60 millimeter.

If you are thinking of gaming, good luck finding a GPU that is only 200mm long that is from a recent generation. A hand full of 5060s may fit, I see one 9060 that might fit and you'll have to go to prior generations beyond that. None of the big guys will fit in this at all.

There are no legit reviews for this specific model on yt; etaprime is a just a shill. Only the deskmini seems to get any decent reviewers.

20CM is the length of the GPU. Not the width, even though you put 40MM which would equal 4CM.

Here's a list from Asrock of supported dual slot GPUs:

I understand what you mean and that is how I feel too. Newegg has horrible customer service if anything has to be returned. I've been burned by them many times in the past. The only items I purchase from them now are gift card deals or something that I definitely won't return.
