Basically, what you grow up with is what you expect mayo to taste like. I grew up with Miracle Whip, but I always knew it was wrong. Now I float between Helman's and Duke's. They're both delicious to me, but I grew up in the cult of the Whip, and it's just nasty so everything is better.
Blue Plate is for the deep south folks, like Mississippi area. Duke's is the southeast. Helman's is everywhere, but known as Best Foods west of the Rockies for some reason.
BP is OK. Not as sweet or tangy as the others. Some folks just like boring mayo, because that's what they expect mayo to taste like.

I grew up in Atlanta and like Blue Plate and Duke's equally.
This is a pretty good deal, but there's no way I'd order mayonnaise that's been sitting in a delivery truck in the August heat.
